His work is underpinned with philosophies around consciousness, learning, communication, sustainability leadership and systems/complexity theory. Garrett utilizes a number of systems-oriented methodologies and tools in his work with clients. These include 5 Disciplines of a Learning Organization, Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC), Systems Coaching and Representative Constellations, Deep Facilitation and Relating, Non-Violent Communication (M. Rosenberg), and systems-oriented approaches related to environmental sustainability and climate. As part of his systems-focused approach, Garrett emphasizes the importance of quality conversations and effective relationships in teams and organizations. This includes quality of listening and trust development as well as a coaching approach for leaders and managers to develop and empower individuals and teams. Lastly, Garrett approaches his leadership work from a holistic perspective, recognizing the importance of vitality, self-care, stress-management and more. He supports his clients with introductions to mindfulness and meditation, and practical steps toward fitness, nutrition and a healthy mindset. He has lived in Asia for 17 years, and was previously a legal and financial consultant for leading global consulting practices in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He bridged into the work of executive education and change consulting with time lecturing on US Corporate Law at the University of Navarra in Pamplona.
