Dulwich College International Building a strategic process to deliver purpose-driven growth Source: Dulwich College Establishing the strategic groundwork for continued success Dulwich College International (DCI) is regionally known for its high quality of education and its focus on creating the best schools. DCI has grown through a repeatable formula and they are pivoting to achieve even greater growth aspirations starting with aligning the leadership on the Purpose. To dive deeper into these aspirations, Dulwich asked Awaken to help assess its culture, organization and people to build a strategic planning process which truly enables it to create sustained impact towards their future goals. Building systems aligned to needs, culture and capabilities We conducted a thorough organizational diagnostic assessment, utilizing our SPECL framework, to pinpoint strengths, weaknesses, and underlying issues. This provided a clear, cross-organizational view of key priorities to address in both the strategic planning process and the resulting strategies. Building on these insights, we collaborated with leadership to create a strategic planning framework and a detailed, integrated calendar with execution templates for crucial activities like strategic direction setting, performance management, and financial modeling. Additionally, we developed a set of key strategic initiatives, serving as recommendations for actions that can achieve key objectives across vital areas like culture, purpose, and operational excellence. A more agile, autonomous organization was enabled through these changes DCI’s organizational transformation has not only granted employees greater autonomy but also instilled a deeper sense of purpose within their roles. This strategic realignment has also helped the harmonization of strategic objectives, individual accountabilities, and the prioritization of outcomes, Additionally, a comprehensive capability assessment of Human Resources and MarComms has provided Dulwich with valuable insights into the key prerequisites and potential challenges associated with the successful execution of their new strategic plans.
