Leadership consultant, advisor, and executive coach with 15+ years of experience
David is a leadership consultant, advisor and executive coach based in the UK. He has worked for over 15 years in the fields of personal and organizational development with senior executives and Boards in the public and private sectors, as well as international sportsmen and politicians.
David has been a global leadership advisor to McKinsey and Company for over a decade. He has designed and delivered iconic learning programs for them throughout this time as well as being a personal coach to consultants of all tenures from engagement managers (project leaders) to senior Directors.
He acts as an advisor to a number of other organisations including, Chanel, Carnival Corporation and Ernst & Young, on leadership development, talent management and the challenges of organizational change. He designs and delivers development programs on change management, leadership development, inspirational leadership, powerful dialogues, leading with values and coaching skills for leaders.
David also acts as a personal advisor and coach to numerous business executives, including C suite executives and emerging leaders, around the globe. The focus of this work is both on business challenges and personal career planning and objectives. He carries this out with executives in fields as diverse as banking, food manufacturing, consumer products, travel and leisure, media, construction, oil and gas, steel and management consultancy.
Outside the world of business, David is a personal coach to a number of global sports stars. He works with a number of international soccer players, including World Cup winners, based in the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga. He is also a personal coach to two Formula One Grand Prix World Champions. Since the 2014 season, he also advises a leading Formula 1 team’s young drivers academy.
David’s work also takes him into the world of politics. He is a coach to a number of politicians in the UK and overseas including senior Government ministers and city mayors. He is also a personal coach to leaders at The Clinton Foundation and the United Nations Global Fund.
David is a special advisor to the British Prime Minister on social policy direction and detail, particularly as it relates to children and young people. He is involved in developing the National Citizenship Service – a program aimed at developing citizenship skills amongst the country’s sixteen and seventeen year olds. He is also a member of the Adoption Leadership Board – a topic particularly close to his heart.
David also speaks on leadership at a number of events and engagements, including, amongst others, The United Nations and The Prince’s Trust (The charitable foundation of HRH The Prince of Wales).
David worked for Barclays Bank, PLC for ten years where he held numerous positions including Corporate Account Manager managing relationships with a number of leading UK businesses, Retail Sales Director overseeing sales performance in the UK branch network and corresponding staff as far as retail sales were concerned and, latterly, Learning and Development Director where he was responsible for both the skills development and career development of all UK based staff in Retail operations.
David holds a doctorate in Psychology and is a qualified executive coach. He has a B.A. (Hons) degree in Accountancy and is a qualified accountant. He is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB).
David also runs a not for profit company. The company provides counselors and mentors to young people in their local communities to help with self awareness and self confidence issues and to build citizenship and interpersonal skills. The company often works in conjunction with Government agencies, local education authorities and sporting organizations to carry out its remit.
David is a member of the Council of Governors at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, UK.
